Waco Chapter of The Links Inc. member LuWenda Pollard represented the chapter well at the annual Walk for The Homeless. Pearl Beverly also attended.
"The walk was a success," Pollard said. "I hope that we can volunteer for some of Mission Waco's outreach programs."
The event was held on Sept. 16. The annual Mission Waco/Mission World “Walk for the Homeless” began with the distribution of new shoes for the homeless of Waco. Participants were invited to donate a new pair of shoes or to walk for donations.
Homeless men and women were fitted with their own pair of new shoes prior to the distribution. The “Walk” began at the Mission Waco Meyer Center, 1226 Washington Ave, and ended at the Church Under the Bridge.
