Members of the Waco Chapter of The Links, Inc. had a great time honing their leadership skills at the 38th National Assembly of The Links, Incorporated. The four-day conference held in Orlando focused on transformational programs and impacting lives.
Members celebrated the global impact of the organization's achievements. One of the high points of the assembly was the public issues forum titled, “Violence in America: It’s Impact on our Children, our Community.”
Panelists voiced concern over recent events that have harmed children. Rev. Al Sharpton and the parents of slain teen Trayvon Martin, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, discussed how they dealt with his death and offered hope ending this trend.
Other special events, stimulating business sessions and workshops made the assembly enjoyable and educational. I look forward to going back.
